School Uniform
Our school has a uniform policy for several reasons: We want students to focus on, or seek recognition for, cultivating their mind, character, and abilities rather than on differentiating themselves through dress. We do not want any students to feel left out because they cannot afford certain items of jewellery, etc. Some rules also have a health and safety focus. Clear, standardised rules also avoid sensitive discussions over what is acceptable. Finally, our uniform encourages students to have high aspirations and a sense of belonging to, and pride in, their school.
Ties must still be ordered from the school but all other uniform orders must go through the website links below:

Boys and Girls
- Black blazer with school badge
- White shirt (appropriately fitted)
- Black trousers (not narrow/fashion)
- Black Trutex skirt is the only skirt that can be worn at the school. A-line or pencil skirts are not permitted. The skirt hem must be worn at an appropriate length.
- Black V-neck tank-top with school badge (optional)
- Black V-neck jumper with school badge (optional)
- Black shoes: shoes should be of a traditional leather type (not canvas), trainers, trainer shoes, no logos are allowed
- Plain black socks
- Black opaque tights must be worn if students choose to wear school skirts
- Clip on tie with school badge
- House badge
Direction
- Blazers are to be worn at all times around school. At the teacher’s discretion students may remove their blazers during lessons.
Formal school trousers must be worn, made of appropriate school trouser material - Leggings, jeggings, stretchy or jean materials are not permitted
- Stretchy waistbands are not allowed
- Trousers must have a zip
- Please note that what works for one child may not be suitable for another in terms of sizing. If in doubt, we recommend keeping the tags on garments and checking in to ensure they are suitable. We do not wish for any member of our school community to incur unnecessary expense.
- School does not have an issue with flared trousers provided they are made from formal school trouser material, similar to that used for school skirts or boys’ trousers. Fashion fabrics such as leggings, jeggings, ribbed material or casual stretch fabrics are not permitted.
- School tie to be worn with the badge on show and top button fastened. No alterations to the tie or colour.
- No jewellery, other than wristwatches, and one small stud in each ear, lower lobe only. No helix, inside ear, tragus. No nose, lip or any other piercings are acceptable. No body piercing.
- Mimimal and natural make-up, no stip lashes or individual lashes. No nail extensions, nail pollish of a natural colour. Hairstyles within normal range of styles and natural colours. No extreme haircuts.
- Students who do not follow these directions will be at risk of spending time in our internal isolation room.

PE Kit
- Royal blue and Scarlett polo a shirt with school logo (order from Emblematic)
- Navy shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms)
- Footwear (football boots or trainers – no plimsolls)
- Shin pads
- Year 7’s to wear the new P.E Kit. Years 8-10 have until September 2026 to purchase.

School shoes should be professional, polishable, and supportive. We do not recommend wearing expensive branded shoes. Plain, hardwearing, and suitable shoes or ankle boots which will accommodate walking up and downstairs without slipping or falling will ensure the health and safety of all students. Trainers are not permitted. Some black trainers will be included in the uniform section of Highstreet shops or online, however, these are not part of our uniform policy. Brands such as Nike, Converse, Vans do make leather trainers that look similar to shoes; however, they are a fashion shoe and not professional and are more expensive than a professional shoe. Winter clothing
When weather turns, we appreciate that students may need to wear a more appropriate, sturdy and hard-wearing pair of shoes/ boots in the winter. Thank you to members of our school community who have checked in on the type of boots that are acceptable at school.
Please could you ensure the following when choosing footwear for your child. Boots are/ have:
- Black
- No higher than ankle (Knee or calf style boots are not appropriate)
- No heel.
- Plain
- We do allow named brands; however, we do not wish to encourage families spending hundreds of pounds on boots. A good grip and sole would be more beneficial.

If the weather does turn to snow/ ice and students do need to wear wellies to school, we can arrange storage of these, to ensure that they can bring dry shoes into school to ensure the surface of our corridors does not become a health risk.
Can we also remind you that hoodies are not permitted in school. A waterproof coat can be worn on top of the blazer to ensure that students are dry.

If a student is having difficulty in fulfilling any aspect of uniform, then we do ask that communication occurs with the school in order to resolve any issues. We have uniform available for either a swap or if additional items or needed – we are happy to support parents/carers and students in any way we can.
