Wolsingham School House System
Structure
At Wolsingham school, our House System is an integral part of our school life. The four houses are Dale, Fell, Moor and Wear. Each student receives a house badge that represents the House they are in. All staff will also be a member of a House and will receive a badge.
Aims
Wolsingham School’s House System aims to develop leadership opportunities, increase community spirit and promote competitions.
Activities
There are many house events throughout the year from all areas of school life to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in something they enjoy or are good at. Typical house events include sporting activities, Spelling Bee, debating & quizzes. Staff lead by example and participate in events and competitions often attract crowds which creates a real positive and encouraging atmosphere.
To conclude the year, all students participate in House Cup Day which includes a diverse range of activities and students aim to win as many points as possible for their House. Examples of activities include Sports Day, design activities and STEM.
At the end of the academic year, the total number of house points are calculated and one house wins the House Trophy.
