Ofsted Report
Dear Parent/Carer
As you will be aware on the 16th and 17th May, OFSTED visited our school to see how our students are progressing on their journey through Wolsingham School.
Please find enclosed a copy of the OFSTED report with this letter.
Governors and staff are delighted with the report and the many aspects of school life which have been recognised and celebrated. There are many quotes for the report which sum up or school. However, the first line demonstrates why I believe our school continues to go from strength to strength even after over 400 years, Wolsingham school is a welcoming and friendly school with strong links to the local community. As a school we will continue to work closely with all of our local community fostering and growing relationships to ensure Wolsingham school plays a pivotal role in this area of County Durham.
In the report there are also elements of school highlighted which as a community we need to improve on, we will share with parent/carers in due course on how we plan to improve these aspects of school for the next academic year. We will also continue to work hard to make many aspects highlighted positively in the report even better including reading, broadening the curriculum for all students and behaviour and the attitude to learning of all students.
I look forward to sharing with you all the next edition of the school newsletter The Pheonix, before the end of term. Where you will be able to see the range and depth of events, enrichment activities and success our students have had and taken part in across the whole school year.
Many thanks for your continuing support to make our school successful and a safe and happy place to be.
Yours sincerely
Mr N Mitchinson
